Runner inspires whole school

"Gordie has a gift.

"Together with his coaches and his parents he sets goals. I think he's an inspiration to all students."

Gordie Michie's classroom teacher, Pam Deven, said it all quite simply on Wednesday at the conclusion of an interview with the Grade 12 cross-country runner at Arthur Voaden Secondary School.

Michie, 17, is top gun on Voaden's harrier squad and leads them into the coming season, which begins Wednesday, Oct. 20, with the TVRAA Tri-County championships at Springwater Conservation Area.
